Nelson to Motueka – 65km
Now it is not often you get to be tourists on your doorstep but why not……heaps of excuses no doubt but when you have paradise on your doorstep you need to get out and enjoy it.
So off we go……..departing Nelson Saturday 8am.
Got to love the Great Taste Trail in Nelson
The start of eating and drinking our way on the GTT. “Coffee in the paddock”. So kiwi having a coffee with the sheep and horses…..
Rabbit Island the iconic Mapua ferry then on to Jester House and the ride over the hills to Tasman.
Day 1 completed with ice cream in Motueka and an awesome stay at the Mot campground with a few beersies and winesies. Got to love how you can eat and drink anything whilst bike packing and summer is feeling like it has arrived in Nelson.
Day 2: Motueka – Nelson 65km with a few food and drinkie diversions.
What an awesome day being a tourist in this magical region. Mapua ferry back to Rabbit Island, Seifried wine tastings, Grape Escape cafe, Te Mania vineyard for more vino sampling, bumped into Santa at Eye Bright, had our first berry ice cream for the season, and the day finished with a beer at Styx.
So lucky to have this on our door step.
