The Wilderness Trail

Day 1 Greymouth to Kumara 23km

With the Wildnerness trail on the bucket list it was great to get it underway and even better having the Dravitzkis join us. After the drive over to Greymouth what a cruisy start to the ride with a flat short ride to Kumara. We hit the jackpot with our accommodation at Maggie’s.

Day 2 Kumara to Lake Kaniere 50km

Can’t believe how lucky we are with the weather. The heavy rain forecast didn’t arrive. So a magic day of riding on the most incredible trail through stunning scenery with fantastic company. Arrived Lake Kaniere homestay with the most hard case host Grant. One of the Coasts colourful characters.

Day 3 Lake Kaniere to Hokitika 23km

The rain arrived over night and we awoke to a light drizzle but perfect timing it cleared just as we loaded up the bikes. Once again a lovely trail as we departed Lake Kaniere and arrived at Hokitika. Wildnerness Trail ticked off and was absolutley awesome! Great few days on the bikes and stunning scenery.
